Master Program

Educational objective

The educational objective of the Master of Geological Engineering program is to produce graduates who can work in the fields of research and education, oil and gas and coal industries, mineral industries, construction services and regional development, as well as volcanology and geothermal fields.

These objectives strongly support the national competences framework for undergraduate education and are consistent with the mission of the institution. Their consistency with ITB and FEST missions is realized through producing graduates that has integrated knowledge and skills as well as soft skills to be a professional and ability to develop themselves with good ethics. Those programme objectives accommodate the pressure of national demands (industry, society, and profession) and rapid change in survey and mapping methodology and technology. The objectives are related to Vision and Mission of ITB, ITB Goals, and Vision and Mission of FEST.

Every graduate of the Master of Geological Engineering program at ITB is expected to achieve the following:

  1. Can identify problems and find solutions through structured research.
  2. Can perform analysis and synthesis, as well as use evaluation skills to draw conclusions from research activities, in addition to a deep understanding of their field of study.
  3. Able to apply geological discipline for the development of science, exploration and development of hydrocarbon, mineral and coal resources, volcanology and geothermal, as well as environmental engineering geology and geological disaster mitigation.
