Geological Engineering Study Program – ITB participated in the iGeo Expo International 2023 which was held at the Sabuga Building, Bandung. At iGeo Expo 2023, Geological Engineering Study Program ITB and HMTG “GEA” ITB collaborated with UNESCO Global Geopark Ijen to research the uniqueness of geological sites in Ijen Geopark and introduce geology to the surrounding community.

In the event the results of Research, Community Service and Innovation (PPMI) activities such as guide books, rock samples, and field trip documentation carried out by 4 groups of expertise (KK) simultaneously at the Ijen Geopark, were displayed in front of thousands of visitors from 50 countries. In addition, the research results of undergraduate students’ thesis, master’s student theses, and doctoral student dissertations in the Ijen Geopark Area were also presented in this exhibition.

Another thing, the results of PPMI activities, and ITB geological community service for the past 3 years at the Ijen Geopark were also presented in a geopark management seminar session delivered by Deputy Chair II of the Indonesian Geopark Network (JGI), namely Abdillah Baraas, who is also an ITB geology graduate student.
